Kwara Nantomah : First Professor of Pure Mathematics In Ghana from KNUST

Dr. Kwara Nantomah, a Ghanaian lecturer at the C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Science, has become the first full professor of Pure Mathematics in Ghana, and the youngest in the country to achieve this title.

He is an alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and celebrated this milestone on Facebook, receiving many congratulations from family and friends.

Kwara Nantomah Biography

Professor Kwara Nantomah is a Ghanaian mathematician who is currently a Full Professor of Mathematics and the Dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences at C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Science.

He received his BSc and MPhil degrees in Mathematics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and his PhD in Mathematics from the University for Development Studies. His area of specialization is Mathematical Analysis, with a particular focus on Mathematical Inequalities and their Applications, Special Functions, Convex Functions, Monotonic Functions, and Classical Analysis. He has published over 90 research papers in international journals of good reputation.

He is also an Editorial Board Member and a Reviewer for several Mathematics Journals, and has served as an internal and external examiner for a number of MPhil and PhD theses.

He is also a supervisor for BSc, PGD, MPhil, and PhD candidates. He is a member of the following professional organizations: Ghana Mathematics Society, Ghana Science Association, Nigerian Mathematical Society, London Mathematical Society, American Mathematical Society, Edinburgh Mathematical Society, European Mathematical Society, and Korean Mathematical Society.
