Check the Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Pharmacy program at KNUST, you must meet the following requirements:

  • WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants:
    • Credit passes in core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Science or Social Studies.
    • Credit passes in elective subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Mathematics.
  • A’ Level Applicants:
    • Five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics.
    • Passes in three (3) of the following electives: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Mature Applicants:
    • Must be 25 years of age or older at the time of submitting the application.
    • May have WASSCE/SSSCE or O level qualifications.

KNUST Pharmacy Cut off points

The KNUST cut-off points for the Doctor of Pharmacy programme are the minimum grades that applicants must achieve in their WASSCE/SSSCE exams in order to be considered for admission. The cut-off points are set each year by the KNUST Admissions Committee.

What is the cut off points for Pharmacy in KNUST?

For the 2023/2024 academic year, the KNUST cut-off point for the Doctor of Pharmacy programme is 06. This means that applicants must achieve a total of 06 or better in their three core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and their three elective subjects (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics).

KNUST Faculty of Pharmacy Departments

The KNUST Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has six departments:

  • Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry
  • Department of Pharmacognosy
  • Department of Clinical and Social Pharmacy
