KNUST BSc. Meteorology and Climate Science cut off points & requirements 2023

If you have your sights set on pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Meteorology and Climate Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2023, it’s essential to acquaint yourself with the admission requirements and cut-off points.

Cut Off Points

The cut-off points for the BSc Meteorology and Climate Science program at KNUST is 11.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission into the BSc Meteorology and Climate Science program at KNUST, candidates are typically required to meet specific academic and non-academic criteria. These requirements may include:

BUY KNUST ADMISSION FORMS ONLINE

Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) or West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE): Applicants must obtain passes in core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science. Additionally, specific elective subjects related to science are often a prerequisite.

GCE Advanced Level: Candidates with GCE A-levels should aim for at least five (5) credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.

Other Qualifications: KNUST may also accept other qualifications, such as International Baccalaureate (IB) or its equivalent.

WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS

Credits in the THREE (3) Core Subjects (English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science) are required.

Credits in THREE (3) Elective Subjects, including: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

ADVANCED LEVEL APPLICANTS

FIVE (5) credit passes at GCE O’ Level including English Language, and Mathematics and Additional/Elective Mathematics plus THREE (3) passes at the A’ Level including Mathematics.

MATURE APPLICANTS

Applicants must be at least 25 years at the time of submitting the application. In addition to passing a written and oral Examination, applicants must have;
EITHER
FIVE (5) credit passes at GCE O’ Level (or its Equivalent) including English Language, Mathematics and Additional/Elective Mathematics.
OR
Credit passes in three (3) SSSCE/WASSCE core subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science, plus credit passes in any three (3) Elective subjects including Mathematics.

HND APPLICANTS

Such applicants that also meet any of the above requirements will be admitted into year two. Applicants are expected to pass an interview.

A’ LEVEL APPLICANTS

FIVE (5) credits at O’ Level including English Language and Mathematics plus passes at the A’ Level or equivalent in THREE (3) of the following relevant subjects: Chemistry, Zoology or Botany, Mathematics, Physics, Biology.
