Cut off point

A cut of point of 12 is required to study Industrial Engineering at KNUST.

Admission Requirements

Aspiring students are typically required to meet specific academic criteria, including obtaining the requisite grades in relevant subjects at the high school level. Additionally, a strong foundation in mathematics and physical sciences is highly beneficial.


WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS

Credit Passes in THREE (3) Core Subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science and Credit passes in THREE (3) of the following Elective Subjects: Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following:
i. Chemistry
ii. Metalwork

iii. Auto Mechanics
iv. Applied Electricity
v. Technical Drawing
vi. Building Construction
vii. Woodwork

WASSCE/SSSCE applicants without Chemistry shall obtain at least B3 in Integrated Science.

Any of the following is acceptable in place of Chemistry;
Metalwork, Auto Mechanics, Applied Electricity, Technical Drawing, Building Construction and Woodwork.

A’ LEVEL APPLICANTS

i. A’ Level Certificate applicants shall have at least credits in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

ii. Applicants shall have credits in English and Mathematics using either
WASSCE/SSSCE or O’Level as substitute for Requirement.

HND APPLICANTS


i. HND Certificate applicants shall have at least Second Class Honour in any Mechanical Engineering orientated programme, such as:

a. Mechanical Engineering with any option
b. Agricultural Mechanization
c. Automobile Engineering

ii. Assessment shall be based on the applicants’ transcripts.

iii. Applicants shall have credits in English and Mathematics using either
WASSCE/SSSCE or O’Level as substitute for Requirement.

MATURE APPLICANTS

Mature applicants must be at least twenty-five (25) years at the time of submitting the application.
Mature applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience at the time of submitting the application
Mature applicants must have acquired WASSCE/SSSCE, A’ Level Certificate or an HND from a recognised institution.
a. WASSCE/SSSCE mature applicants shall meet requirements.

b. A’ Level Certificate mature applicants shall meet requirements.

c. HND mature applicants shall meet requirements.

INTERNATIONAL AND OTHER APPLICANTS


a. International Baccalaureate applicants may apply with contents of programmes equivalent to the Ghanaian WASSCE/SSSCE or the Ghanaian A’ Level programmes.
b. Credits of International Baccalaureate applicants shall meet requirements with equivalent certificates.
