KNUST BSc. Computer Science cut off points & requirements 2023

It’s essential to familiarize yourself with the admission criteria and cut-off points for the year 2023 if you’re aspiring to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

To be eligible for the BSc. Computer Science program at KNUST, applicants must meet the following requirements:

WASSCE/SSSCE Qualification

BUY KNUST ADMISSION FORMS ONLINE

For WASSCE candidates, a minimum of six (6) credit passes in core subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects is required.
For SSSCE candidates, applicants must have a minimum of six (6) credit passes in core subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.


A’ Level Qualification

Candidates with A’ Level qualifications must have passes in three (3) subjects, including Mathematics and two (2) other relevant subjects.
Diploma Holders:

Applicants with relevant diplomas from recognized institutions may be considered for admission, subject to specific departmental requirements.

Admission Requirements

WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS Entry Requirements

Core Subjects: Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science.
Elective Subjects: Credit passes in Mathematics, Physics and either Chemistry or Applied Electricity or Electronics.

‘A’ LEVEL AND EQUIVALENT Entry Requirements


‘O’ Level or equivalent: Credit passes in FIVE (5) subjects including English
Language, Mathematics, and Additional/Elective Mathematics, and
‘A’ Level or equivalent: Credit passes in THREE (3) subjects including Mathematics.

MATURE APPLICANTS Entry Requirements


Applicants should be at least 25 years at the time of the application.
Applicants must satisfy the general requirements for the programme (i.e WASSCE/SSSCE, or ‘A’ Level, or HND/Diploma)
Short-listed applicants may take an Entrance Examination and pass an interview.

Cut Off Points


The cut-off points for the BSc. Computer Science program at KNUST may vary from year to year. As of 2023, the required point for admission is 10.
